Summary
ALMAR is located on a small island named "Marinetta". The company possess the specialised licence, “Excise License”, which is required by Italian legislation in order to be able to carry out farming activities. Marinetta Island is located near toLignano and Marano Lagunare villages (10 minutes by small boat): the first one is probably the most famous and popular summer tourist place in the North East of Italy, while the second one is a historic port, well known since 1.400 AC, as an important fishery harbour and strategic defence for the empire of Venice.
The small island is located in the middle of a large lagoon area in close proximity to the Adriatic Sea by means of the Stella River. It is also close to other important Italian rivers in the area (from North to South: Isonzo, Tagliamento, Piave, Brenta, Adige and Po). ALMAR is equidistant between Venice and Trieste, in the middle of the historic Gulf of Venice area. The land is under the administration of the Udine Province and Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in the North East of Italy, not far from the Slovenian border.
