A panoramic view of the turbot farm 8 /02
The site was chosen for its suitability to land-based fish farming. The requirements include the availability of land, water, labour, facilities and a market. The farm is located adjacent to a bay, which is for the most part shallow, and has a large tidal exchange, both essential criteria for the farm. The water temperature fluctuates through the year, giving a temperature range of 8-18ºC.
